We have this monolithic, carpet-covered chest with a giant mixer on it and all we really need is a baby control board, so I had the principal order this one, and made a carry tray for it. The bits are held in place with Velcro, and the second side provides a spot for the mic when it’s not being used, and for the iPod or cell phone providing the music source.

Thanks! That’s a thing I do: I use EMT and I also use Simpson Strong-Tie stuff as raw material. That project I literally threw together with scraps because I tried to order the control board like FOUR MONTHS AGO...

I like using EMT for handles too. I’ve got a big tray I use for plumbing parts, that I made from sheet metal and a scrap of EMT.

Here it is. I spot welded the body together, and hand hammer riveted the handle on it.

Nice. Do you have a box bender at school?

Sure do!  Actually, thanks to a buddy of mine who taught at a school that needed to clear some space, I now have two of them.  One 24" and one monster 48" brake.  My buddy gave us the monster.  It’s way overkill for what my 7th graders do with it, but it sure is nice.

I ts pretty sweet! This tool tray is 24", because that's as big as I could make at the time. I'm making a 30" long tool box for my dad for Father's day.
